2018 Season - Week 23
The Four Predictions
Early this season Craig asked if we could all predict who would win and lose the Superbowl, who’d have the first pick in the draft and who would be the league MVP. Congratulations to Marcus who predicted the Rams would lose the Superbowl, Arizona would have the first pick and Mahomes would be MVP. 3 points per correct pick scores him 9 more than double Andy H and Wayne who scored 4 (for Mahomes and predicting the Rams would win the Superbowl – 1 point). The tie-breaker was how far away your predictions finished from where you said, so congrats to H who finished second however most of us made huge errors, H actually predicted Dallas would have the first pick in the draft! Despite getting 3 correct Marcus was very wrong on his Superbowl winner, Jacksonville as was Johnnie. He may be the highest BUMS scorer, regular season only (see below) and winner of 5 Papas Fritas Trophies but Johnnie was the furthest from the truth as the Jags (winner), Tampa Bay (loser), Buffalo (first pick) and Ryan Fitzpatrick for MVP may have seemed plausible after week 2 but were a combined 89 places away from where they finished. Meantime Cheryl may not have got a prediction correct but she scored 2 points and was pretty close with all four, Rams (winner), Patriots (loser), Jets (first pick) and Todd Gurley for MVP totaling just 14 points. Stampy was far off either with Rams, Chiefs, Bills and Gurley scoring just 21 points, both of them scoring less than Marcus’ 25 “difference” points. See attached Predicting spreadsheet.
All-Time Leading Points Scorer
As mentioned already, Johnnie continues to be the All-Time Leading Points Scorer (Regular Season only) having now amassed 11,720 regular season points. Daz moved past AP for 6th although both were promoted. On average Craig continues to lead with 489.8 points per regular season, while Johnnie (488.3) is second ahead of Chief (477.5). Marcus has jumped from seventh to fourth averaging 445.3 points per regular season after moving up two spots from ninth last year. Despite a wildcard defeat to Mark, Chief remains the highest play-off scorer with 1,674 post season points with Mark second (1,433), Daz third on 1,352. It’s the same top 4 on play-off average per year with Chief leading Mark 72.78 post season points per year to 62.30. Despite totaling 562 points after 10 years Craig has the 5th highest average with Wayne 6th (54.44). At the top of the Official All-Time Leading Points scorer Chief has now scored 13,133 points, ahead of Johnnie (12,921), Mark, Andy H and Cheryl. On average Chief has scored 547.2pts per season, with Craig remaining second (546.0), followed by Johnnie (538.4) then Marcus (503.8) who has passed Wayne for fourth.
